LBR40
LBR40 white 2K polyurethane primer for PU foam (PPU) and MDF
Two-component white polyurethane primer for moulded polyurethane foam (PU foam décor, mouldings) and MDF. Excellent adhesion, high build/fill, sands very well, thixotropic. Dealer adds: good hiding, high elasticity and fast hardness build; works on different kinds of PU foam with or without post-moulding treatment, and its good wetting makes it suitable for MDF under matt topcoats.
- Priming moulded PU foam parts: décor, mouldings, cornices, onlays, carved elements
- Priming MDF, including routed doors, under matt enamels
- White filling/isolating base under pigmented PU enamels and patina work

Mixing matrix
- % by weight: 20 %official% by volume: 30 %official
Always; either LNB71 or LNB16405 (listed on the official page as alternatives).
Fixed ratio – weigh it, don't eyeball it. The isocyanate hardener reacts with moisture, so close the can right away. Per the dealer (Holzcom), LNB71 is a hardener for adhesion primers, solids 50 ± 1 %. t-colormarket.ru lists LNB16405 as a MILESI hardener for PU lacquers and enamels.
- LZC1051Thinner% by weight: 10–30 %official% by volume: 20–40 %official
10 % for maximum build on flat work; 20–30 % for a finer spray on carved foam décor, verticals, or a smaller nozzle.
LZC1051 is the PU thinner (official page). Add after the hardener and stir in.
- S50Thinner% by weight: 10–30 %recommended
Only if LZC1051 is not available.
Not an official pairing for LBR40. S50 is Technocolor's general thinner and Technocolor's own PU-foam finishing schedule uses it with a PU primer (PPS20040 + S50 30 %). Test on a scrap piece first.

Process and compatibility
- Substrate preparation
- PU foam: part fully cured after moulding; remove mould-release (solvent wipe), scuff with an abrasive pad, de-dust. Dealer says it also works on foam without post-moulding treatment. MDF: sand P180–P240, especially edges, de-dust.recommended
- Goes over
- PU foam (bare) / MDF (bare)
- Goes under
- PU pigmented enamels (e.g. PPL20 with C20/C61 per Technocolor's PPU schedule) / patina CQS / PU clear lacquers (e.g. PTL500)
- Sanding
- After 4–6 h (or overnight for thick coats): P240–P320 on flats, abrasive mats on profilesrecommended
- Temperature and humidity
- 18–25 °C, RH ≤ 75 %recommended
- Don'ts
- Don't use the mix past its 2 h pot life – don't revive a thickened mix with thinner
- Don't spray onto cold or damp parts
- Don't change the hardener ratio
- Don't pile too much on foam in one pass
Storage
- Shelf life
- not publishedrecommended
- Storage temperature
- +5…+30 °C, tightly closed, hardener protected from moisturerecommended
- Packaging
- sold per kg (t-colormarket.ru price unit руб./кг); Holzcom lists a 25 L can (art. LBR40/25)dealer
Safety: Flammable. Solvent-borne; hardener contains isocyanates – spray in a booth with extraction, wear a charcoal respirator (A2/P2), gloves and eye protection.

Not covered by the sources
- density of part A (derived from weight/volume ratio only)
- shelf life
- no MILESI/Technocolor TDS PDF for LBR40 found (only LBR402 US TDS exists, a different product)
- nozzle/pressure data – all derived
- lightfastness / chemical resistance not published
- thinner discrepancy: 10–30 % wt vs 20–40 % vol implies inconsistent thinner/part A density ratio (2.0 at low end vs 1.33 at high end)
- dust-free and sanding times are only derived; full dry of 8 h at 20 °C is from a dealer (Holzcom/timb.ru)
- pot life of 2 h comes only from a cached snippet of the 404 t-colormarket.ru page. It is unverified live, and timb.ru doesn't list it
