AC202 Hardener for gloss acrylic coatings

Isocyanate hardener (part B) for Technocolor 100-gloss acrylic clears. Solids 38 ± 1 % (Holzkom/timb.ru). On t-colormarket it is the specified hardener for ATL21226, the fastest-drying gloss acrylic clear in the range (40 %), and the alternative to AC200 for the high-solids clear ATL203 (70 %). It has no page of its own at Technocolor or t-colormarket, and it is not in the 2025-2026 catalog or its hardener chart — the catalog lists only AC200 for ATL203.

  • Part B for gloss acrylic clears (Holzkom)
  • Fast-drying gloss acrylic clear ATL21226 — 40 %
  • High-solids gloss acrylic clear ATL203 — 70 %, alternative to AC200

Process and compatibility

Mixing
Stir the lacquer, add AC202 by weight or volume (same figure), mix, thin with S80 (or S70 on ATL203) to spray viscosity if needed, strain and let it stand 5–10 min. With ATL21226 the mix only lives about 1 h, so mix what you can spray in that time; with ATL203 you get 3–4 h.recommended
Temperature and humidity
15–25 °C, RH ≤ 70 %recommended
Don'ts
  • Don't leave the can open — the hardener reacts with moisture in the air, goes hazy and thick; if it has thickened or skinned, bin it.
  • Don't pre-mix ATL21226 in bulk: the mix starts to thicken after an hour.
  • Don't polish ATL21226 before 3 h.
  • Never pour leftover mix back into the hardener can.
