TSE014-05

TSE014-05 Crackle effect medium, neutral (craquelure)

Neutral (uncoloured) medium for a decorative crackle / craquelure finish. Sprayed over an enamel that has been sealed with a clear lacquer (nitro LEC19812 or water-based XGC32), optionally tinted with CS pigment pastes. As it dries the film breaks up into cracks that show the colour underneath; once the crack pattern has fully developed it is sealed with a clear topcoat (ATL500, LDA401).

  • decorative antique-look furniture door finishes (craquelure)
  • 'Mosaic' effect — coarse cracking of a coloured layer over an enamel
  • two-tone effects: tinted crackle over a contrasting enamel

Mixing matrix

  • TSE3Additive
    % by weight: 5 %catalog

first crackle coat in the 'Craquelure' system (over LEC19812)

TSE3's function is not stated anywhere in the sources (probably a crackle modifier); no official page or dealer listing exists.

  • CS70001Additive
    % by weight: 5 %catalog

second (coloured) crackle coat in the 'Craquelure' system, over the second LEC19812 coat

CS70001 is a CS-series pigment paste; any CS colour may be used ('tinted with CS pigment pastes').

  • CSAdditive

tinting to the required colour / RAL ('Mosaic' effect)

Recommendation: keep paste at ~5–10 % max or the crack pattern changes — always do a test panel.

Percentages are per 100 parts of component A.

Coats
Catalog: the Craquelure system has two crackle layers (TSE014-05+TSE3 5 %, then TSE014-05+CS70001 5 %), each over its own LEC19812 coat; the Mosaic system has one (TSE014-05 RAL over XGC32). 'One spray pass per layer' is workshop practice, not stated in the catalog.catalog
Why ru
Общая практика для кракелюрных составов; Technocolor на этот счёт ничего не указывает.

One even, continuous wet coat — don't go back over it. Film thickness drives crack size: heavier = bigger cracks, lighter = finer. Always spray a test panel on the same build-up.

Why ru
практика мастерской

Airmix for production runs; HVLP is simpler for small batches.

Sanding
Do not sand the crackle layer; denib only the sealed topcoat if needed.recommended
Topcoat timing
after the crackle effect has fully developed («после достижения эффекта растрескивания»)catalog
Temperature and humidity
18–25 °C, RH 50–70 %; keep conditions constant between test panel and jobrecommended
Don'ts
  • don't thin without a test panel — it changes the crack pattern
  • don't topcoat before cracking has finished
  • don't sand the crackle layer
  • don't double-pass a wet coat

Storage

Safety: No SDS found. Spray in a ventilated booth with an A2P2 respirator and gloves; keep away from ignition sources.
