LUA460
LUA460 two-pack acrylic lacquer, 65 gloss (semi-gloss)
Milesi two-pack clear acrylic lacquer (supplied by Technocolor), 65 gloss — a semi-gloss topcoat. Cured with the non-yellowing LNB99 hardener. Flows out very well and resists scratches, chemicals and solvents. Goes on as the topcoat over sanded polyester or PU primers, or over fully cured LJA99 acrylic sealer.
- furniture topcoat (per the 460–468 series dealer notes)
- kitchen doors, bathroom furniture, carcass furniture
- open-pore and closed-pore finishes
- pale and chemically bleached timber — a non-yellowing system

Mixing matrix
- LNB99Hardener% by weight: 10–20 %official% by volume: 10–20 %official
10 % for general work; 20 % for higher chemical resistance (kitchens, bathrooms).
Dealer series note (on the LUA468 page): at 20 % LNB99 the drying is substantially shortened (literal RU wording 'drying speed is substantially reduced' — read in context as shorter drying time) and the sheen comes up about 5 GU. The hardener is safe on chemically bleached wood. LNB99 solids 32 ± 1 % (dealer).
- LZC8643Thinner% by weight: 20–30 %official% by volume: 20–30 %official
Slow PU thinner (Technocolor: 'for polyurethane and acrylic materials') — the main choice.
Slow — better flow on a semi-gloss, but more dust pick-up and sag risk on verticals.
- LZC70Thinner% by weight: 20–30 %official% by volume: 20–30 %official
Alternative to LZC8643 — also a slow PU thinner for PU and acrylic materials (officially allowed on LUA460, unlike some other grades in the series).
- LTC22Additive% by weight: 4 %dealer
When the timber under the lacquer must be protected from UV colour change (pale species, bleached wood).

Application
HVLP
- Consumption
- 100–120 g/m²official
- Recoat
- wet-on-wet only within the flash-off (~10–20 min); otherwise after full dry (≈12 h at 20 °C) with a light sandrecommended
- Sanding between coats
- P320–P400 between coats; denib P600–P800; don't sand/polish the final 65-gloss coatrecommended
Spray 100–120 g/m² (official). Distance 15–20 cm, 50 % overlap, fan fully open.
Conventional spray
- Consumption
- 100–120 g/m²official
Conventional spraying — per the methods page, the universal method but with low transfer efficiency.
Airmix (air-assisted airless)
- Consumption
- 100–120 g/m²official
Per the methods page, airmix suits finish coats better than airless.
Curtain coater
- Consumption
- 120–140 g/m²official
Curtain coating — flat and lightly profiled parts (doors, side panels, shelves) per the methods page. The slow thinner helps flow-out.
Process and compatibility
- Substrate preparation
- Apply over well-sanded polyester primers; over PU primers with a good cross-linked film such as LBA1 catalysed with 50–70 % LNB17; or over fully cured LJA99.dealer
- Goes over
- polyester primers (well sanded) / LBA1 + LNB17 50–70 % / LJA99 (fully cured)
- Sanding
- Primer: P320–P400 before topcoating; topcoat: see application.sanding_betweenrecommended
- Don'ts
- don't use hardeners/thinners from other systems (AC40, S50, S80 etc.)
- don't apply over under-cured LJA99 or poorly sanded primer
- don't use the mix past its pot life (~3–4 h)
- don't sand or polish the final 65-gloss coat
