LUA118
LUA118 acrylic lacquer/sealer, 4 gloss (dead matt)
Dead-matt (4 gloss) acrylic lacquer/sealer, two-pack (hardener inferred from the LUA46x series, not officially stated). Excellent physical and chemical resistance, fast drying, suited to open-pore finishes and builds well in several coats — the whole system can be run in one material (sealer + topcoat). Applied by spray or curtain coater at 100–140 g/m².
- open-pore finishes on veneer and solid timber (oak, ash, walnut) for a 'raw wood' look
- self-sealing lacquer-on-lacquer system in 2–3 coats without a separate sealer
- dead-matt topcoat on doors, carcasses and worktops for interior use
- topcoat over stained/tinted bases where a very low sheen is wanted

Mixing matrix
- LNB99Hardener% by weight: 10 %recommended% by volume: 10 %recommended
Standard catalysis — the default.
PROVISIONAL: t-color.ru names no hardener for LUA118. LNB99 is Milesi's non-yellowing hardener for acrylics (32 ± 1 % solids, dealer). Check with Technocolor's technologist and do a test panel before production.
- LNB99Hardener% by weight: 20 %recommended% by volume: 20 %recommended
When extra chemical resistance is needed (kitchens, worktops).
Dries noticeably faster, but the matt goes about 5 gloss shinier (it shows on a dead matt). Suits chemically bleached substrates. Don't mix 10 % and 20 % parts in one job.
- LZC8643Thinner% by weight: 20–30 (typ. 25) %recommended% by volume: 20–30 (typ. 25) %recommended
Main thinner. 20 % for curtain coating and verticals, 30 % for fine HVLP spraying.
PROVISIONAL (not stated for LUA118 on t-color.ru). LZC8643 is a slow PU thinner: good flow-out and an even matt, but it stays open longer, catches dust and blunts the 'fast drying'.
- LZC70Thinner% by weight: 20–30 (typ. 25) %recommended% by volume: 20–30 (typ. 25) %recommended
Alternative to LZC8643 (by analogy with LUA460/462).
PROVISIONAL. LZC70 is also a slow PU thinner (t-color.ru).

Gun 15–20 cm off, 50–75 % overlap, fan fully open. Stir part A thoroughly — the matting agent settles. Lay an even wet coat with no dry spray — at 4 gloss any dry overspray shows as whitish patches.

Fine for the sealer coat on big flat panels; not recommended for the final matt coat — the coarse fan gives an uneven sheen.
Electrostatic
Possible with any spray system (Technocolor methods page) — handy for chairs and legs. Mix conductivity isn't published: test first.

Flat or lightly profiled parts only (Technocolor methods page: curtain 70–300 g/m²). Watch the bath viscosity — a fast-drying material thickens; top up thinner by the cup.
Process and compatibility
- Substrate preparation
- Bare timber: sand P150–P180 (veneer P180–P220), de-dust; blow/brush the pores out for open-pore work. Can go straight onto timber or onto a stain once the stain is fully dry.recommended
- Sanding
- Sealer coat — P320 after 3–4 h (next day if the paper clogs). Intercoat P320–P400. Don't sand or polish the final coat.recommended
- Don'ts
- don't lay it on thick — the matt goes uneven and the pores fill
- don't sand or polish the final coat
- don't use the mix past its pot life (≈ 3–4 h)
- don't change the hardener ratio within one job — the sheen changes
- don't go into production without a test panel — hardener/thinner are not officially confirmed
Storage
- Storage temperature
- 5–30 °C, closed can, out of sunrecommended
- Packaging
- 1 L (and larger)dealer
Safety: Two-pack solvent-borne material: flammable; the hardener contains isocyanates. Spray in an extracted booth with a carbon-filter respirator (A2/P2) or air-fed mask, nitrile gloves and eye protection. No smoking, earth the equipment. Don't seal leftover mixed material in a closed can.
