CPH625

CPH625 Mahogany wood stain/lasure (waterborne, exterior)

Waterborne mahogany lasure with wax for exterior wood. Pigmented, colours evenly without blotching, levels well and is lightfast — protects the wood against UV and does not fade. Because it contains wax it is a finish coat in its own right; no lacquer goes on top. Contains no biocides, so it can also be used indoors; outdoors the wood should first be treated with CTH100 preservative.

  • Gazebos, fences, railings, garden structures
  • Window frames, cladding and log/timber house exteriors
  • Interior timber (biocide-free)

optional; if grain raises, light pass with P180–P240 along the grainrecommended

Brush along the grain, no puddles; lay off the excess and keep a wet edge to avoid lap marks. Stir before and during use — pigment settles.

Spray light, then back-brush along the grain straight away so it penetrates evenly without striping. For exterior work brushing is preferred — it drives the lasure into pores and end grain better.

Process and compatibility

Substrate preparation
Dry (wood moisture 8–14 %), clean, grease-free wood with old film finishes removed; sand P120–P150 (no finer than P180 — finer closes the pores and blocks penetration). Outdoors, treat first with CTH100 preservative and let it dry.recommended

CTH100 / CPH6
Temperature and humidity
Apply at +10…+30 °C, RH 40–75 %; not in direct sun, on wet wood, before rain or if night frost is expected.recommended
Don'ts
  • Do not lacquer over it — the wax lasure is the finish
  • Do not thin with solvents
  • Do not let it freeze
  • Do not flood it on thick — blotches and tackiness
